Are you only feeding one channel (ie, left channel or right channel only?)
If som you need a cable to split the mono signal to feed both channels to
get the best signal. You can try decreasing the desk volume and increasing
record volume on the R55. In my experience this only happens when you try to
put too loud a signal into the unit because the record levels are too low.
