ok this is probably a very stupid question and asked alot before..

i'm new to the minidisc scene, just getting my Sharp MD-MS722 unit a few
weeks ago. I am very happy w/ the sound quality and performance. However,
most of the stuff that i record to my mindiscs are MP3s downloaded from the
internet. I record them by wiring an analog cable from the sound card's Line
Out to my unit's Line In. I have had no noticable blemishes or static in the
recorded music so far.

However, i was wondering if I should purchace a sound card w/ optical ouput.
Is that a good idea? Also, what are some good cards w/ optical output, and
how do their prices compare?

thx for any help,

Edward Ceaser
