        As long as frequency range doesn't matter, I built a small mic
with a stereo jack plug and a mic stolen to a broken cell phone; the
results are antonishing... 

        Also, a great idea pointed (guess it was Timothy P. Stockman) a
while ago on the list for doing interviews is use a stereo mic pair, and
clip one mic to the interviewer and the another to the subject; that way,
you have a two track recording device that will let you do some surgery
with PC a if necessary :)
