That's true.

That's not so true. Actually the MD list made up a very small percentage of
MDN's business.

A combination of things happened. First of all they had some really bad
luck. Like being ripped of for about $100,000 in credit card fraud!!

They originally had their goods enter the country through Alaska. (via Fed
Ex). The customs people there were great. But the owner of the company
worked for a company (his day job) whose employees received a 75% discount
from Fed Ex.

The problem is that the discount was supposed to be for personal use only.
Not commercial. Eventually Fed Ex caught on and cut him off. Trying to get a
new shipper in Japan was a nightmare.

Aside from Fed Ex the Japanese shippers are not very reliable. When they
finally found a new one the new shipper used the port of San Francisco. The
customs people there suck.

All of a sudden the FDA tels them that the lasers in the units are not
certified for use in the US. The biggest joke about the whole thing is that
it was the FDA. The FDA does not have any authority over non medical
devices. They usurped their authority.

Now if the FCC had complained. That would be another matter. Japanese
domestic units are not FCC certified. Which means that EVERY unit shipped to
the US is being sold illegally!!!

All of the companies are breaking the law. I don't think that it is illegal
to buy a unit only to import one. Now the Japanese companies that ship to the
US are not subject to US law.

Since each shipment is to an individual and not a bulk shipment (like the
American importers do) it is almost impossible to get caught.

MDN did manage to get around the import problem by working with a Japanese
company. But the credit card thing really hurt.

Also, the owner of the company was, well I'm not going to say anything
negative about him ( I still consider him a friend). You will have to draw
your own conclusions.

All I will say is that is is a terrible businessman and leave it at that.

Regards,
Larry
