Hey guys,
I have a bunch of MD's that I would like to burn onto CD's on my new
computer. I have an SB Live with SPDIF in/out and a MZ-R55. I realise
that I can't digitally hook my portable up to my computer so I was
wondering what the forum thinks the best solution is for me? Should I
just get the cheapest MD deck possible and hook that up to my computer
with cables (what does the cable look like that hooks to SPDIF?) or would
it be easier to get a CD-MD deck which allows me to do all the
transferring between MD and CD in one unit? Any recommendations on
decks? (keep in mind I only buy Sony MD products) I think it would be
cheaper to do it on computer and I've heard that the CD-MD deck uses a
different kind of blank CD-R's anyway. As it is right now, I can
record MD's to WAV files through a cheap minijack onto burned CD's,
but it's a real pain because I don't get track marks and I think (?)
the quality might be lower. The main thing I want out of this
purchase is to be able to burn my MD's onto CD in a single operation, all
the tracks will be retained on the CD (less work). I don't have
titles, so that doesn't matter--it's just the track marks I desire, and
the original sound quality. Also, is there some sort of software
that makes it easy to do this, or would it be just like now, where I
have to do everything manually? Please help.

thanks,
