I use the MD lens cleaner (dry dummy disc with a couple of audio test
tracks,) every four months. I would not recommend using a cleaner unless
there is a noticeable problem - failure to find tracks or erratic skipping.
I use it once and a while only because I notice a visible lint build-up
inside the unit, not because of any mechanical problems, which means I am
probably using it too much.
