the R50's battery life is not "woefully short". The R55 is/was short.

true, but why remove a useful feature from the remote?

I've yet to have RSI caused by titling with my R50, but I have used
the R90, and the lever is not as nice for feedback as the wheel is...

Serious mis-feature. New hardware should be better than the previous
generations. It's smaller, lighter, and SLOWER! (also more prone to skips
from the reports on this list, and on usenet)

Why should the newer (and assumed therefore better) equipment, not measure
up to it's predecessor? The R50 was quite accurate, why should the R90
be less so?
