After a couple of years of good service my trusty AM-F5 seems to have packed
up. When you put a disc in it makes rhythmic clicking for a while, and never
quite manages to read the toc. Does that sound like my optical block has
come unaligned or something else.
Oh and on the other topic - i very much doubt that the digital in on my
je520 is being put throught an atrac cycle before being put back out. My
reasoning is this - the output stage would be the last stage of processing.
So if the digital output has been atrac'd so would the analog output. And
the analog output is very nice indeed so it hasn't been atrac'd (I've been
known to use the je520 as an offboard dac for my cd player cos it's dac is
nicer than the dac in my (also quite expensive) cd player).
