Noise in the analog output generated by the digital and servo section of
CD/MD players is a real phenomenon.  The worst of the problems are avoided
by using regulated power supplies.  Modern voltage regulator chips and
current sources (in DACs) are extremely stable.   But noise due to poor
grounding and coupling due to proximity (especially in super-compact
designs) are the main problems designers face.  Many designs, especially
portables, have some problems in these areas...
