(Continuation of previous post) Using a MiniDisc audio recorder for this would only require a sound card and software, unlike a "regular" external data drive which would most likely require a SCSI adapter, ... or in the case of my laptop's CD-ROM, a PCCARD based external ATAPI adapter. Concerns: These days with folks loving to get into lawsuits, if we develop something like this for personal use, can we end up getting sued by someone or some company that thinks that this infringes on one or more of their patents? Just some thoughts. Even if we never get around to storing data on audio MiniDiscs, they sure are nice for music, anyway!
