My mate is probably buying a Pioneer RMX9 system at the same time - DJ
thing with 2 CD players, mixer, etc. etc. for about 500 quid, so we should
be able to get a deal. I noticed the remote was like that from the picture
I saw - not ideal, but I can cope with that - I write enough text messages
on my phone to be able to type quite quickly like that anyway!

Yeah, what does the pitch control do - does it just alter the speed, and if
so, by how much? And what is the S-Link connector? I don't have any other
Sony separates (Philips CD, Philips DCC, Sherwood RDS ProLogic Receiver).
The 3rd party titling stuff looked good with the Sonys, but I daresay I
could find something or get my brother to write something for the PC if I
got an IrDA port for it...

The Sony is about 10 quid cheaper I think. Aaarrgghhh! Decisions,
decisions. I have learned to go for first instincts when it comes to most
things in life, and I'm still dubious about Sony's quality and the amount
of crap in their marketing material - as if tilting the circuit board by 2
degrees makes any difference to the sound - someone screwed up the design
IMHO :)

I will listen to them both, and maybe the Sharp as well on Thursday.
There's a Kenwood too for around the same price, but it looks horrible. Oh,
and the Technics one, but it looks really naff and has a big flap on the
front which you have to open to access most things - in my experience these
get broken off very quickly. I've always found Panasonic/Technics stuff
really clunky in operation, so I won't be going that way.

Pioneer/Sony/Sharp methinks....

Cheers for that - I'll let you know how I get on. May listen to a few
tomorrow when we go in to play with the RMX9, although they haven't got the
Pioneer in stock at the moment.

Richard
