 o Gregory Chan finds the Sony PC Link (aka Xitel MDPort-AN1) 
   [1]available separately from Electronics E-Mall for $38 w/shipping. 
   He reports it works fine on Macs with third party USB cards after 
   [2]downloading Apple's USB 1.4.6a1 DDK and installing the included 
   drivers (It works on Macs with OS 9.0.4 and built-in USB ports fine 
   as is and doesn't need the drivers). And for convenient Macintosh 
   MP3 to MD recording he recommends [3]PlayQT, an AppleScript 
   controller for QuickTime Player that automatically adds pauses 
   between songs to facilitate trackmarking.
