Sony and Sharp use different atrac formats. I have a sharp ms722 which
has great sound. I record live music of various groups and then using
the line out, load everything to my computer where I edit it and then
put it on cd's. This works fine, but I would like to do a digital
download to eliminate any data loss or spikes that occur with an analog
download. Therefore I need a minidisc deck with a digital output.
The problem I am trying to resolve is: While the ms722 uses atrac 6.0, the
sony decks use a different format which i assume is not fully compatible.
Am I wrong about this compatibility?
What manufacturers make a md deck with a digital output, that could fully
read (be fully compatible), without changes in the data, my Sharp atrac 6.0
recordings? Does anyone have a compatibility chart which is up to date?
The only charts I've found, stop at around atrac4.5.
I looked the current sharp desktop products and suprisingly they do not
have a digital out. Anyone recommend a paticular md deck that will work
they way I want?
thanks,
drex
