I'm using that card (WinFast 4XSound). I bought it from HK for about $2x US.
what can i say? for that amount of money, it has both optical in and out. the
bundled software and the volume control panel kind of suck. but it does the job
well (record to MD). It won't play 2 or more audio stream at one time. Only one
at a time. But if I want to record songs to MD, playing one audio stream is good
enough. Besdies, I have a SB Live Platinum 5.1 for my main machine.

I ordered MDS-PC3. Next I will text if I can record back from MD to PC (mp3 or
wave) digitally using that connection. I want to combined all my MD collection
to LP2 mode :)

I would say if you want a cheap sound card with optical in/out, I will go for
it.
