Of course, turning the unit off or inserting a disc will also replace the demo scroll with (respectively) darkness or the appropriate display for that disc. To disable Demo Mode, one has to chord the STOP and CLEAR buttons on the panel. Chording them again reenables Demo Mode; disconnecting and recon- necting power also reenables it, I believe. The chording has to be very precise; one cannot just hold one of the two buttons down and then press the other (only chords work, not arpeggios, so to speak).
