If it is an RCA type digital output, you will need to convert it. You will
need a Coaxial Digital -> optical digital converter. Hope this helps.

Subject: MD: SPDIF in Sharp MD_MT15?
I have just installed a Sound Blaster Live card which has a separate
header with digital S/PDIF in and out, both with the RCA format. Can I
Record on my Sharp MD-MT15 with a single line RCA to Monaural 1/8 Plug
into the line in on the MD? I am reluctant to experiment blindly since I
don't have a manual for my recorder. I know the input jack on the MD
works with *analog* audio electrical cable and also with digital optical.
Question is if it would also work with a digital electrical connection
provided by the SPDIF line.
I know that if I had an optical out on the soundboard that I would use an
optical cable into the same jack on the Minidisk.
I suspect I will need to make or buy a converter for the TTL to optical
link but, I'm sure there are experts on this list that can state for sure
what my options are.
Second Question.
Does anyone have a spare manual for this sharp model?
