Here's a happy thing: this afternoon when I showed up
at the radio station where I work part-time (WWFM -
classical radio network), the chief engineer pointed
out to me the newest piece of equipment - a Sony
MDS-E12 MINIDISC deck. There's one in the on-air
studio and there will soon be one in the production
studio.

I'm not sure what he has planned for them; but I
suggested, and he seemed to agree, that we could use
them instead of DAT (DAT tapes have been giving us
some problems) for locally-produced shows, and for
recording from the satellite any programs to be
rebroadcast at a later date.

I'm excited because this unit has a keyboard input so
I can bring in my keyboard and title my own discs.

Nice to see someone else who recognizes that MD is a
terrific format.

James
