Hey kids,

I recently remodeled my MZ-R700. Took it apart and pulled the 1/8th inch mic
input off the circuit board, then soldered a high quality mono audio cable
right to the board, no more static. That cable leads to a 1/4 audio jack and
then to balanced Neuman connector with a transformer built in. The recording
levels can be somewhere in the middle now and I get great sound with no
static from the previous 1/8th inch jack rotating or moving while recording.
It can be done. Although it took a whole day to get the parts and put the
thing together. I am also sure it voids the warranty. But the result looks
completely stock, and the unit still works, and better I might add.

Just some info for people who may have wondered if it could be done.
