Well they've got the 4X recording deck, and the portables that come with the
USB connector (granted only records at 1X) but I believe that's making
progress. The main reason I bought a portable MD player as opposed to an MP3
player was that I like changing media, such as on car or plane trips, and
don't like having the same damn 12 songs on an MP3 player. I wanted
something small and portable, hence not the portable MP3 discmans and the
"portable hard drives" that store gigs of MP3's. So there you have it, I
guess it's down to marketing.
