I too looked at this microphone (along with many others).  The frequency 
response (100-15000Hz) of this model is the reason I decided to look for 
another mic.  A response beginning at 100Hz is not what I would use if I ever 
intended to record live music.  If you think of it in terms of frequencies 
corresponding to the tones of the equal tempered scale, this mic (according 
to the specs) would transduce the frequency of 103.831Hz (G# 2), but not G2 
with a frequency of 98Hz.  By the way, pianos produce frequencies as low as 
27.5Hz (A0).  

Since I can't predict exactly what will and will not be recorded (data 
retained) once the data compression begins, I made the decision to search for 
a mic (moderately priced) that would provide as much information (lower 
frequencies) as possible.  

<< I've been looking at a mic that can plug into a portable MD recorder.  This
 is what I've found so far.  Does anyone have this?  Are you happy with it?
