Dear Om Syafril, Menindaklanjuti rencana tahun lalu yang belum sempat teralisasi, yaitu migrasi dari multipop ke direct mail server. Disini kami akan melakukan migrasi untuk cabang kami di semarang (srg-mscid.com) yang masih pakai multipop, berikut langkah yang akan saya ambil:
1. request ke DNS untuk change MX record dan A record sebagai berikut (rumahweb) : # srg-mscid.com MX 10 mail.srg-mscid.com # mail.srg-mscid.com A 202.173.23.27 2. Request ke ISP untuk setting PTR sebagai berikut (angkasawave) : # 27.23.173.202.in-addr.arpa PTR mail.srg-mscid.com 3. setting FQDN di MDaemon (tidak harus sama dgn MX host) berarti bisa dengan fqdn.srg-mscid.com Pertanyaan : 1. dari step2 diatas apakah ada yang salah / kurang ? 2. jika kita melakukan serangkaikan langkah diatas terlebih dahulu, apakah email dengan multipop tetap bisa berjalan? (dengan maksud uji coba 1 email account dengan direct mail apakah berjalan baik atau tidak) 3. secara umum untuk update MX record & A record serta PTR apakah memerlukan waktu untuk penyebaran seperti kita membeli domain name.
