Another option... Create a Run Command-line step that executes NOTEPAD.EXE
When Notepad is opened during the deployment, the TS will pause/stop. At that time do whatever you want to do to troubleshoot. Close Notepad when you're done (if you want the TS to continue after Notepad is closed, then enable "Continue on Error" on the step).
