I'm not sure I can test that with any certainty that the results are meaningful. We've done several deployments without this happening. This time we were doing another deployment at the same time on the same model laptop. One exhibited the behavior and one did not.
I feel like even if I turned off the windows update steps in the task sequence, imaged another machine, and then manually ran windows update the results would be inconclusive.
