Short answer: Yes, Or install the older Windows 8.0 ADK when using MDT 2012 Update 1.
MDT 2012 Update 1 looks in the following registry location to find out where ADK is installed: "HKLM:Software\Microsoft\Windows Kits\Installed Roots\KitsRoot" Of course for the Windows 8.1 ADK, that registry location has changed, so even though the Windows 8.1 ADK might work with MDT 2012 Update 1, it also means that no one has ever tested it. I would recommend downgrading to Windows 8.0 ADK, or upgrading to MDT 2013. -k From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Marcum, John Sent: Thursday, October 24, 2013 8:29 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [MDT-OSD] MDT 2012 Update 1 and ADK 8.1 Is MDT 2013 required to use the 8.1 ADK? _____ John Marcum Sr. Desktop Architect Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP _____ _____ Confidentiality Notice: This e-mail is from a law firm and may be protected by the attorney-client or work product privileges.
