if you update the service I am quite certain SCEP won't get updates. You can however disable windows updates via a GPO and not disable the service.

I have created an image, and now have the powers that be asking me to disable Windows Update, because the updates could disrupt production business and cause a halt. The problem is, these systems are in moving vehicles that do not connect directly back to our network and do not have the SCCM client on them (before you ask, they will not have the client on them) So that I can make an argument either way, can someone tell me then back up via online verbiage that this is or is not the case Can FEP/SCEP still get updates with the Windows Update service disabled? ________________________________ CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This email message and any attachments hereto are intended only for use by the addressee(s) named herein and may contain information which is legally privileged, confidential and/or exempt from disclosure under applicable law.
