Exactly, the /q switch doesn’t work for .NET Framework 4.0/4.5 when deployed
via MDT task sequence, you have to use /passive instead.

Hi,

I suggest going directly to the source. .NET Framework Deployment Guide for
Administrators<http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee390831.aspx>

Please try "dotnetfx45_full_x86_x64.exe /passive /norestart"

For troubleshooting :
log files are generated during .NET Framework 4.5 setup:

• %temp%\Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5*.txt

• %temp%\Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5*.html

I've tried installing .net 4.5 as a separate application with /q and /norestart
in the command line but just hangs and doesn't complete.

Thanks.

Also check the documentation for an /SMS switch or similar. Installers that
spawn other installations and close themselves frequently have a switch that
will force the originating EXE to stay active until the entire package has
installed.

Have you tried installing the .Net framework separately so that the app does
not try to install it? It could be as simple as that.

Have you tried extracting the prereqs from the installer? The installer
probably launches a separate installer for the app than what it starts with.
