I just have a test CM12 OSD server for this exact purpose, so I do not mess up my build techs when trying different things with a boot wim. A virtual server is all you need. Works GREAT! then when ready to use the new boot wim, I simply take the test task sequence out of play and replicate teh boot wim file then either update teh current tasks and or deploy the new one.
