One thing to add, if it is a domain-joined machine.

Make sure you don't have policy forcing Ctrl+Alt+Del, A Logon Banner or
disabling autologin.

Any of those things will break MDT's ability to recover.

Changing the administrator account name is also known to cause issues, but can
be worked around.

MDT will set those registry keys automatically if it has the needed information
to do so. For custom task sequences, that's not always the case.

Fortunately, there is exactly one thing that MDT needs: The local
Administrator password. Set the "AdminPassword" variable to contain the
appropriate value and the rest should work. (It will find the name of the
administrator account automatically, in case it was renamed.)

Thanks,
-Michael

What you need to do is before you reboot you'll need to populate the Registry
keys so that the system automaticity logs back in so that the TS can continue.

MDT uses the local administrator account during an OS deployment. But in your
case it's going to run under the user's credentials. It isn't like SCCM which
runs under the system context.

If you want some good examples take a look at Johan Arwidmark's hydration kits.
The sequences he has created use a domain auto login to install all the
software.

in MDT

I am working on a task sequence that only installs a piece of software that
requires a reboot.

The software installs fine and the machine reboots properly but the process
becomes stuck at the windows login screen once the machine has booted back to
windows.

Once I manually login the deployment process continues to the MDT final summary.

How can I make MDT automatically re-login ?

Doesn't MDT create its own TempUser account ?
