Do you mean PXE booting from it, or just using it for the network connection?
I have tried the latter, and it works without issue. My current client is running 2008r2 on their PXE servers, that has some quirks with UEFI hardware. So the decision was made to use usb boot media for the UEFI devices. If you need anything more detailed, let me know.
