What happens when an immovable object meets an unstoppable force?

In all seriousness, I know that Windows 7 is not supported on many (most)
modern Tablet machines, the Microsoft Surface line included. A quick search of
the Dell Driver Pack Catalog shows no Windows 7 drivers for the Venue 11 Pro.

I assume that the reason you say "can't" is because of some kind of
certification (healthcare) process? Or App compatibility? Training?

IMHO - My recommendation is to get Windows 8.1 certified, at least for Tablet
Devices. I know many companies that have two or more standard OS'es for just
this very reason. If your imaging deployment process is well automated,
spinning up a new OS SKU should be easier.

Additionally, I wouldn't allow my IT department to support any configuration
that isn't supported by the OEM(s), and such configurations should never be
"certified".

I'm not sure how to respond. It is not as if windows 8 is some big secret that
no one knows about. Obviously this would be easier if I could use windows 8.
I can't. Thanks for the "suggestion" though.

Looking for tablet device currently in production that can run windows 7 x64
especially looking for any guidance on Dell venue 11 if possible. Just missing
the touchscreen on the venue 11 at the moment. Can't get it to run in 7.

If you are talking about tablets, I would re-evaluate the premise of Windows 7.

Upgrade to Windows 8.1. J

Subject: [MDT-OSD] Dell Venue on Windows 7?

I have a need for some tablet PCs running Windows 7 x64.
Previously we were buying Sansung ATIV 7 series, but those have gone out of
production.

Being a Dell shop, we would prefer to buy from Dell, however I have been unable
to get the Venue 11 to fully work on Windows 7. My last stumbling block is the
touch screen and audio. Sound for this project I can do without, but no
touchscreen
is a deal-breaker. Has anyone here been able to put Windows 7 on one of those
Venue 11 Pros successfully?

I’d be open to other suggestions for Windows 7 x64 tablets that are still in
production too.
