If I recall correctly, you make the customization, export them, then there's a
GPO that you apply that uses the exported customizations. Doesn't help for NDJ
though

What is the recommended method to pass along customizations then?

dont use copyprofile, there are issues with it causing problems with the start
screen amongst other
things<https://www.windows-noob.com/forums/topic/12973-how-can-i-deploy-a-customized-windows-10-start-menu-using-system-center-2012-r2-sp1-configuration-manager/>,

All,

I have created a windows 10 1607 reference image with the latest version of MDT
and then plan on deploying it out with SCCM. I have created an answer file via
the SIM. I have copy profile set to TRUE in the unattended.xml but it’s not
copying the customizations over. I have read that there are issues with copy
profile with Windows 10. Has anyone else experienced any issues with copy
profile in Windows 10 1607?
