Just finishing my build and capture now. I’ll be able to tell you in a bit.

Subject: [MDT-OSD] NIC driver not installing for Windows Server 2016 on VMware
using SCCM

I am in the process of trying to deploy Windows Server 2016 using SCCM on
VMware ESXi platform. I’ve been able to successfully deploy the image but
unsuccessful in injecting the NIC driver during the build. Since this happens,
the client and all other task sequence processes fail. This is what I see in
device manager after I try to deploy the OS.

I extracted all the VM tools drivers and using the Apply Driver Package to
inject the drivers after the Apply OS . This process worked for building and
deploying Windows Server 2012, but not for 2016. I made sure that I enabled
the drivers to be able to run on any platform.

If I run the VM tools package once the OS is up, then it installs all the
drivers just fine. So I’m unclear why it’s not injecting them during the
build.  Anyone else seen this?

Thanks,

David
