I don't really know. I have an ATI card with the proprietary drivers
and have a similar issue. I haven't managed to isolate it yet,
especially when I've got a workaround. You will find that the xshm
driver is much slower but it doesn't seem to be an issue for a modern
computer.

Status in Me TV, it's TV for me computer: Invalid
Bug description:
The picture is mostly green and pink and additionally appears to be spawned in
itself. Sound is working. When trying to watch in fullscreen mode very few
frames are being shown, sound is crackling and the computer becomes almost
unusable.
I'm running me-tv 0.5.17 on Ubuntu Hardy Heron (8.04; 64bit) with a mobility
radeon x1400 card with the open source ati driver supplied by the standard
repositories. At the channel scan window, all channels are found after a short
while of searching. I'm using the de-muenchen settings and have a Happauge
WinTV Nova-T USB-stick installed according to the directions on this (
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?s=90f707e0f268f04f77a31c14fb2efee9&t=752968&highlight=nova+t+stick
) post. When running Kaffeine, everything is running just fine.
