Marco posted a new comment: Ciao Michael Thanks for the answer. Generally any video file that can be opened under Linux can be opened under Windows. It happens to all of the .mpg .avi. wmv .mp4 .flv in my PC. Videolan has embedded many codecs for video including mpeg2, so there's generally no need for any external mpeg2 codec installed. That's why I am surprised, and that is why I was thinking it had to do with Me-TV rather than VLC. I can play a DVD within Linux through VideoLan (VLC) and same thing I can do within Windows, of course with the VLC version for Windows. This does not happen with the file produced by Me-TV. Probably you are right and I am trusting too much on VLC and ProjectX, as cross-platforms. But in general terms my objective is to burn a DVD video out of a broadcast recording, so at this stage would you suggest any Linux application capable of accepting the files produced by Me-TV and be able to elaborate them in terms of cutting unwanted parts? of course I am referring to advertising in a video stream. Also would you have a suggestion for an authoring tool for DVD?
