I was able to compile Port midi (latest checked out from SVN) compiled under MinGW using CMake 2.8, and Eclipse CDT4 generator. I'll post some instructions very soon when I have some more confidence it works (and after I get some sleep :)). There are several issues, but it works, meaning you don't have to obtain the (expensive?) closed source MSVC++ compiler, which is good news for me. I must say CMake is not trivial, and its GUI for 2.8, although I specified a Debug build, refused to include debugging information .... I had to manually dig through the files and add the gcc -g option to get it right. But it works. Instructions soon to follow ...
