Is PM_CHECK_ERRORS defined? I think the default behavior does not wait 
for ENTER on exit, but if you set PM_CHECK_ERRORS, e.g. by compiling 
with -DPM_CHECK_ERRORS, portmidi tries to check for and report errors 
and generally provide friendly default behavior to minimal applications.
