"To Find a Webquest:
Pick all Webquests by division or by subject area from the popup menu and
then browse until you find something suitable.
The Webquests have been categorized by where they fit into the Ontario
Curriculum. Sometimes, it means the classification may be a little
different from the author's original intention. It also meant not
including a number of great Webquests because they just didn't deal with
any of the Ontario Expectations.
Greater Essex County teachers have written some great Webquests as a
result of Webquest workshops. They can be reached by clicking here or
following the link on the Student Reference Portal. Want to track these
or other webquests on your Palm? Click here (Windows) or here

"But the more I got into it, the better this idea seemed.
I created a custom search and entitled it "Custom Educational Technology
Search Page". The link is available from my home page below or directly
at:
<http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=001073648443141672080%3Awqitrpd2-kw>
It seemed to me this would be a great use of the technology to create a
custom page of places to go when you need something in terms of
Educational Technology and you don't have the time to wade your way
through the entire Google Search. So, I added a few of my favourites.
One of the features is that you can have an open invitation to anyone to
add their own links. So, I'm challenging all Edtechers to head over to
that site and add a link to where YOU go when you are searching for
Educational Technology answers."
The custom search can also be found on the GEC Computers in the Classroom
Home Page
<http://www.gecdsb.on.ca/d&g/index.htm>
Showing the art of searching this tool Doug Peterson has created and for
which I vote ResourceShelf and LII as tools to add, here is a sample
search, artfully done on this new custom search engine.

Online Health Search 2006: Most internet users start at a search engine
when looking for health information online. Very few check the source and
date of the information they find.
10/29/2006 | Report | Susannah Fox
Eighty percent of American internet users, or some 113 million adults,
have searched for information on at least one of seventeen health topics.
Most internet users start at a general search engine when researching
health and medical advice online. Just 15% of health seekers say they
always check the source and date of the health information they find
online, while another 10% say they do so most of the time. Fully
three-quarters of health seekers say they check the source and date only
sometimes, hardly ever, or never, which translates to about 85 million
Americans gathering health advice online without consistently examining
the quality indicators of the information they find. Most health seekers
are pleased about what they find online, but some are frustrated or
confused.

3. Philippines: Peeping Toms Go Hi-Tech

Peeping Toms Go Hi-Tech
(Using deception to get at the truth)
by Alecks P. Pabico
THE last in our i Report October series on voyeurs and exhibitionists
takes a look at how technology has unwittingly enhanced the activities
of voyeurs in the Philippines and taken their "game" into an entirely
new level.
These days, celebrities are not the only ones starring in amateur
skinflicks that are being circulated through cell phones and in
cyberspace. So are ordinary folk many of whom are students who may
or may not have consented having their most intimate moments recorded.
Certainly, though, few of them expected to be on display so publicly.
It's a trend that has not gone unnoticed among authorities. Palmer
Mallari, executive officer at the Anti-Fraud and Computer Crimes
Division of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), even suspects
that cell phones are the most common tools of the trade of the
culprits who are responsible for the proliferation of amateur sex
clips on the Internet.
But cases of cybervoyeurism have proved to be hard to solve, largely
because the victims are reluctant to come forward.
Read on at pcij.org and post your comments at http://pcij.org/blog.

Crime, Punishment, and CCTVs
Though not the only surveillance gadgets now in use, and hardly the
most sophisticated at that, CCTVs are certainly among those widely
used to monitor a public that is largely unaware it is being watched.
