Martin will be hosted by Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association, which produces the annual CES confab, the trade group announced Tuesday. It will be the fourth year in a row Martin has participated in the interview session with Shapiro at CES. Martin, appointed FCC chairman in 2005, is expected to step down when President-elect Barack Obama is sworn in on Jan. 20. Topics to be covered include Martin's tenure at the FCC; the challenges likely to confront industry and the incoming Obama administration; the Feb. 17 digital TV transition; as well as "cable compatibility, spectrum, broadband and other issues critical to the consumer electronics industry," the CEA said. The "dialog" between Martin and Shapiro is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 10, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. PT in the Las Vegas Convention Center's North Hall rooms N255-257. -- ================================ George Antunes, Political Science Dept University of Houston; Houston, TX 77204 Voice: 713-743-3923 Fax: 713-743-3927 Mail: antunes at uh dot edu *********************************** * POST TO [email protected] * *********************************** Medianews mailing list [email protected] http://lists.etskywarn.net/mailman/listinfo/medianews
