Delta IV Heavy NROL-26

Rocket/Payload: Delta IV Heavy carrying the National Reconnaissance Office
L-26 mission.

Date/Launch Time/Site: Jan. 14 from Space Launch Complex-37, Cape Canaveral
Air Force Station, Fla. The launch window begins at 7:45 p.m. EST and ends
at 11:45 p.m. EST. If the launch scrubs, the next launch attempt is set for
Jan. 15.

Special Launch Notes: This is second operational flight of the Delta IV
Heavy. A successful demonstration flight was flown on Dec. 21, 2004 and the
first operational mission was flown Nov. 10, 2007. Delta IV Heavy launches
are the most spectacular night launches of an all-liquid-fueled booster
since the Apollo era. The Delta IV heavy will liftoff with nearly two
million pounds of thrust. This is the 1st launch for ULA in 2009 and will
be the 22nd since ULA ’s inception.

Payload Description: This launch supports the military’s national defense
mission.
