(CNN) -- A plea deal has been offered in the case of a former astronaut
accused of being involved in a well-publicized, violent love triangle,
prosecutors said.

The former astronaut, Lisa Nowak, is scheduled to be in a Florida
courtroom Tuesday to see whether she will accept the deal, said Randy
Means, executive director of the Orange County State Attorney's Office.

"An offer has been made with certain conditions, and we will find out
[Tuesday] if those conditions will be accepted in a plea, when Ms. Nowak
appears at the pretrial conference." Means said.

Nowak's spokeswoman said the former astronaut will be in court, but she
would not say whether Nowak will accept the plea deal.

Nowak is accused of stalking Air Force Capt. Colleen Shipman and using
pepper spray against her in a parking lot at Orlando International
Airport in Florida on February, 2007. Before she pleaded not guilty to
charges of attempted kidnapping with intent to inflict bodily harm,
battery and burglary of a vehicle using a weapon.

She faces a sentence of up to life in prison.

The details of the case drew national attention. Prosecutors accuse
Nowak of driving nearly 900 miles from Houston to Orlando -- wearing
NASA diapers to cut down on the number of stops she needed to make --
and donning a disguise before following Shipman from baggage claim to a
parking lot.

Nowak was upset at Shipman because she was dating the Nowak's former
boyfriend, who was also astronaut at the time, authorities said.

Her attorney has strongly denied that she wore the diapers, along with
the other allegations.

Shipman is also expected to be in the courtroom Tuesday, Means said. If
Nowak accepts the deal, a judge also has to accept it.
