http://www.tvpredictions.com/dish021412.htm Washington, D.C. (February 14, 2012) -- Dish today launched a 'family-friendly' package of channels that can be added to their current subscription for $5 more a month. The new package, which Dish is calling the Heartland Package, includes the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movie Channel, GMC TV, PixL, RFD-TV and, starting later this week, Rural TV. "Just in time for Valentine's Day, DISH delivers a programming package that courts the heart of America with family-friendly entertainment," said Dave Shull, senior vice president of Programming at DISH. "Parents want to be involved and watch TV with their children, and the Heartland Package brings the whole family together around this combination of family-focused networks. In addition, DISH provides advanced parental control technologies that equip parents to choose the content their children can access." The channels (except for the new Rural TV) are already available in different packages now offered by the satcaster. But the Heartland Package could be a popular addition for subscribers who now get low-cost packages such as the Dish Family package which costs $19.95. However, the $5 a month Heartland Package would likely be even more popular with rural customers if an existing subscription package was not required. -- ================================================= George Antunes Voice (713) 743-3923 Associate Professor Fax (713) 743-3927 Political Science Mail: antunes at uh dot edu University of Houston Houston, TX 77204-3011 _______________________________________________ Medianews mailing list [email protected] http://lists.etskywarn.net/mailman/listinfo/medianews
