NEW YORK (Reuters) - Time Warner Inc.'s AOL on Tuesday said it has
launched a new Web site courting skateboarders, snowboarders and other
action sports athletes that lets users send in their own videos.

Lat34.com, named after the company's Los Angeles location, is a joint
venture of AOL and video production company Fusion Entertainment.
Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.

The new site is not a part of AOL Sports and is billed as a kind of
MySpace for 12- to 34-year-old male BMX-riders and snowboarders,
Lat34.com Chief Executive Officer Jeff Rowe said in an interview,
referring to News Corp.'s popular online teen hangout.

"Our whole focus is blending traditional media values with ... social
networks, instant messaging, blogs and wireless," Rowe told Reuters.

Viewers can find information on action sports events, equipment and
athletes.

Skateboarders and snowboarders will also be able to swap tips and
information on local area information using AOL's instant messaging and
blogging tools, the company said.
