The good news: Ma Bell grew its digital-subscriber-line customer count by 342,000 to 7.8 million, and it also picked up an additional 42,000 customers for its EchoStar Communications Dish Network pay TV bundle, growing its total to 533,000. AT&T didn't break out the number of customers for its new U-verse fiber-delivered video service, but the telco said it is on track to roll out the service to 15-20 markets within its 13-state footprint by the end of the year. The telco reported $15.8 billion in consolidated revenue, up 52.2% from the year-ago period. Net income rose $80.8% to $1.8 billion. ================================ George Antunes, Political Science Dept University of Houston; Houston, TX 77204 Voice: 713-743-3923 Fax: 713-743-3927 antunes at uh dot edu Reply with a "Thank you" if you liked this post. _____________________________ MEDIANEWS mailing list [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
