LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - FremantleMedia has found another way
to bring "American Idol" into people's homes. Sony Media Software signed
a deal with FremantleMedia Licensing Worldwide Americas to develop two
new products designed to extend the popular show's reach.

Sony Media Software will release Idol Jam Trax and American Idol Extreme
Music Creator, both of which use "Idol" to draw consumers to existing
product lines.

American Idol Jam Trax software is a $20 product designed for beginners
interested in creating music.

American Idol Extreme Music Creator software is a $50 consumer version
of music production tools. It comes with a Randy Jackson's Producer's
Pack bonus disc, which adds more than 250 royalty-free pop music loops
and samples to the hundreds already in the software.

Jackson, one of the show's judges for the past five years, described the
software as "the bomb" and said it included everything the average
person needed to discover their own musical talent.

Additional Jackson packs and more add-ons will go on sale before the
holiday season, Sony Media Software vice president marketing Dave
Chaimson said.
