Only the amount of trouble that I have run into. Come sit on the Support Desk for a while -- we get several requests for help with Scribunto a week. In many cases it does work. However the frequency of "edge cases" where it doesn't work makes me think that it needs testing on more heterogeneous set-ups. So "enough thought" wasn't given to non-WMF environments which is understandable since it is relatively new and the WMF environment is homogeneous. If the problem is going to be addressed, we need more testing against different environments.
