To continue the gardening analogy, effective spam fighting tends to work better when more people are working in the garden. But you can have a successful wiki with only one or two gardeners. MediaWiki's default setup doesn't provide a good environment for this, though. I'd like to get the default setup addressed before we start to play with nofollow.
