Legoktm's global css/js is a step towards this (I can't remember why
that isn't deployed yet). Loginwiki is probably the wrong place to
store global preferences, but you're right it sets precedent for
having a centralized wiki managing an aspect of the user's session.

The big "SUL finalization" (getting rid of local-only wiki accounts)
is pretty solid as a goal for platform for the next year. I think
there's been some hesitation in building something like global
preferences until everyone is using global accounts, since everyone
having a global account will solve so many other problems.
