Right. It works without LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so v4l1compat.so works with default stkwebcam.ko which is being distributed with kernel by default. At the same time stkwebcam.ko is buggy. For example, green lamp located in the cam doesn't switch off when video capturing is stopped and image itself that I get is worse. Therefore, I do "$svn checkout" form trunk from syntekdriver.sourceforge.net and replace stkwebcam.ko by stk11xx.ko manually, but this actual driver doesn't work with /usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so
