Gnome-Mplayer will play DVD video properly, including menus. I set it to Open GL2 and can get full-screen flawlessly so far. X11 works as well. All other players still have bugs including VLC. The drive still will not open by pushing the hardware button after a movie has been viewed. The drive occasionally comes up twice in the file browser.
I am running on a Toshiba Laptop A105-4201 with a Intel core solo 1.85 Ghz - Integrated 950 Graphics 128Mb. I will keep an eye on this posting. I would be happy to reinstall players and run tests for you when you have time.
