It seems that since yesterday (Dec. 10, 2009) Skype has been removed from the medibuntu packages list (it is not listed on http://packages.medibuntu.org/karmic/), which marks installed packages as "local or obsolete" in Synaptic. Please provide any info why is that so, since http://packages.medibuntu.org/karmic/skype.html exist and you can download and install skype from there.
